We are now looking for a Customs Forwarder to join our team in Gothenburg. If you have experience in customs administration, import/export processes, and logistics coordination, this could be the perfect opportunity for you!

Your Responsibilities

Customs Compliance
Import Control: Review and archive import declarations and supporting documents in line with current regulations.
Export Control: Review and archive export declarations, ensuring compliance with legal requirements.
Audit & Documentation: Verify accuracy and request changes to the Customs authorities when necessary.
Regulatory Communication: Liaise with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and authorities.
Classification & Marking: Identify CBAM (Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism) and potential dual-use items.
Process Development: Update templates, manuals, and workflows to ensure continuous improvement.

Logistics & Coordination
Import Booking: Arrange pickups from third countries, check documentation (AWB/CI/PL), and handle deviations.
Tariff & Compliance Support: Act as the go-to person for commodity codes, sanction certificates, and customs-related queries for Forwarders and Customs agents.
Claims & Returns Handling: Manage claims related to import damages or losses and assist with return processes.
Documentation: Issue Certificate of Origin (COO), EUR 1, and ATR certificates when required.

Who Are We Looking For?

Education & Experience

• Vocational diploma in Customs Compliance or relevant customs administration experience.
• Experience in freight forwarding is a plus but not required.
• Strong knowledge of import/export regulations and documentation.

Skills & Competencies

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.).
• Experience with Dynamics 365 and Emma E-Doc is a plus.
• Fluent in English, both spoken and written.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.

Decision-Making & Authority

• Independently assess and select the most cost-effective shipping solutions.
• Stop orders containing hazardous materials if handling information is missing.
• Issue and sign COO, EUR 1, and ATR certificates on behalf of Consilium.
