The Role: Head of Product Line – Gas Detection Systems

As the Head of Product Line – Gas Detection Systems, you will take strategic ownership of our product portfolio, driving innovation, business alignment, and long-term growth. You will be responsible for developing and executing a forward-thinking product strategy that aligns with our business objectives. Managing a global team of product managers, you will foster a collaborative “One Consilium” culture, ensuring that our solutions meet market demands while maintaining high performance and safety standards.

In this role, you will oversee product portfolio management, making sure that key initiatives are delivered on time and within budget. You will collaborate closely with the Technical Director to drive strategic product conclusions and maximize ROI on development efforts. Identifying new business opportunities and areas for value creation will be essential, as well as representing Consilium in industry forums to promote our safety innovations and strengthen business partnerships. 

Your responsibilities will also include optimizing product pricing and margins, providing technical insights for cross-functional decisions, and ensuring that our forecasts, reports, and strategic roadmaps support data-driven decision-making. A close partnership with the commercial organization will be key to setting and achieving business plan targets.

Your Profile

We’re looking for a visionary leader with a strategic mindset and a passion for safety technology. You should have a university degree in a technical field or equivalent experience, along with a proven background in the safety equipment industry, particularly in fire or gas detection. Strong leadership skills, including the ability to coach and motivate global teams, are essential. Business acumen and experience in setting and achieving ambitious targets will be crucial to success in this role.

Familiarity with agile development methodologies and an understanding of how product development drives business value will be highly valued. Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal, are required, along with experience working across diverse cultures and global markets. You should also have the ability to manage economic targets, analyze market trends, and track performance effectively.
